I've just checked the CD and it doesn't list who played on what tracks but on that LP the bass was played by either Bobby Caldwell, George 'Chocolate' Perry, Richie Valesquez & John Paulus*. *John Paulus is listed on the CD insert but NOT on the original vinyl LP.
Yes it's a really good tune. Although there are other musicians listed on the LP Caldwell plays Synthesizer, Keyboards, Guitar, Drums, Bass & Vibes!! I'm just reading the sleeve notes of the What You Won't Do For Love & Cat In The Hat LPs (which both used near enough all the same musicians) and they were recorded in 1978 & 1980. I bought these when they were released and can't believe it was that long ago!!!! Edited February 16, 2013 by BetaFunk
BetaFunk
Just out of interest this bit of U.S. blue eyed soul is from 1977/78 so roughly the same time as the Bobby Caldwell song. I happen to like it but what do you reckon to the bass playing? http://youtu.be/6ruH8ijyZTI
