discreet
Return Of The Plastic Beer Crate! There was a thread a while back bemoaning the disappearance of the good old plastic beer crate from venues for the purposes of getting one's amp or cab off the floor... Well here they are, at £2.50 each plus postage on the Bay. Not as good as a folding aluminium hop-up work platform perhaps, but a lot cheaper and you won't look like you're about to do a spot of DIY after the gig... Happy Jack
I'll see your plastic beer crates and raise you some wooden tea chests: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Tea-Chests-/261169235070?pt=UK_Storage&hash=item3ccee6447e As an added bonus, not only are these tea chests "vintage" (though not, sadly, "rare") but they were also "found in the loft" ... one point deducted for failure to mention an uncle. flyfisher
If you want a plastic beer or milk crate, just ask a plasterer. They always seem to have a few in their vans.

discreet
Well, guess where I found a sturdy plastic crate 23" X 16" X 12"? I was searching for something else entirely and stumbled across it... right next to my computer, full of magazines. It has been in full view every day for the last five years! Observation: 0/10.

jezzaboy
I have now purchased one of these to use as a caravan step as suggested on the listing. Unfortunately, I don`t own a caravan but hey ho, it`s the thought that counts. Edited February 17, 2013 by jezzaboy

Dur.
Ah, sorry for the confusion. They use them to stand on so they can reach right to the top of most walls. In fact, the one I have that was left behind by plasterers even had a bit of 3/4 inch ply fixed to the bottom (they use them upside down). Not that I'd use it for gigging though because it's covered in plaster splashes! Edited February 18, 2013 by flyfisher
mikegatward
I have a couple of belgian beer crates which would look very cool in a gig situation. Of course, I'll have to drink all the beer before i put them on fleabay
