delph68 Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Hi all 'Cloudbusting' the Kate Bush Tribute Band need a permanent bass player. Requirements: an experienced, melodic player who is familiar with Kate's work, BV's would be great too. A willingness to travel - we have interest from all over the UK plus European representation and so you will need to be able to join us if we get some dates abroad ! We are still a 'young' band (the members aren't so much ! We're all in our 40's / 50's), have gigged on average once a month since August 2012. We have won accolades from Kate's fans, the official Kate Bush News site http://www.katebushnews.com/index.php/2013/01/cloudbusting-gigs-for-2013/ and Del Palmer, Kate's bass player and long time musical collaborator. We shall be headlining at the 'HomeGround' magazine Summer convention in London in June. We are based in North Devon, Cornwall and Somerset and get together for weekly rehearsals in those areas. We're a friendly bunch and welcome input and ideas from all band members, especially if you bring the biscuits So, if you like the sound of this please get in touch, we'd love to hear from you ! In the meantime please check out the website at www.cloudbustingkatebushtribute.com to see video and check out our current diary. All the best ! Lisa Quote
franzbassist Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Hi Lisa I would love this gig, but sadly I am too far away (Hampshire). Have to say though, top notch stuff. Best of luck finding someone. Best wishes Gareth Quote
Bassman Steve Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Gareth, we'd have been fighting each other at the audition!! Seems amazing you should even need to advertise this gig. Good luck guys and I already envy the bass player you pick. Quote
delph68 Posted February 19, 2013 Author Posted February 19, 2013 Hi Both ! It's probably more to do with us being in the SW, not as much of a 'pool' of players to choose from unfortunately. Thanks for the comments anyway ! Lisa Quote
Bass Culture Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Agree with the others - my dream gig. Sadly geography excludes me. Someone's going to love this. Quote
oldslapper Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Enjoyed the videos Lisa, best wishes with the bassist search. Be a great gig for someone. Quote
rubis Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 What a bummer, if my kids were older I would have loved to do something like this, but it's too much travelling for me at the moment Can't think why your existing bassist would feel like packing it in Best of luck to you, hope you find the right one soon Harry Quote
simonc61 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Hi Lisa, Good luck with finding someone. You may remember I auditioned for you and left my music stand behind. Don't suppose you could mention to your keys player (is it Micheal?) that I'd still like to try and get it back sometime? Not sure where he's based? Cheers Quote
lonestar Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Wish i was closer. What a gig! Good luck Quote

He did some great work with us, no hard feelings. Thanks for the good wishes, everyone. Hi Simon ! How's it going ? I'm sorry, I forgot all about the music stand - I shall let Michael know and we'll sort out trying to return it to you. Lisa Quote
simonc61 Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Hi Lisa, thanks would be good if you could, save me buying another. Yes all good in South Devon - not got myself into a band yet but still plugging away at learning stuff. Quote
