stingrayPete1977
Only had my stagg since Christmas and word has got out amongst the local musos, I have been recommended for a little recording session by a great female vocalist I have worked with on a few projects over the last couple of years. I'm still being held back by my bad wrist and a proper double bass would sound better I'm sure although my modded stagg with it's spirocores sounds pretty good IMO. The track is just a demo at the moment and a sort of buddy holly tribute song, I will link it up once it's done. icastle
Excellent I've always done pretty well for session work but it certainly got busier within weeks of my EUB debut. It'll get even better now I've worked out which end is up...
stingrayPete1977
Ha what you like! The term session is probably a bit too posh really but we will see......
mr zed
This is great news Pete. Been reading your 'just bought a EUB' thread and i'm tempted to give one a go myself. Never had either a DB or an EUB in my sticky paws before but seriously tempted. Best of luck with the demo
bassace
Well done Pete. That's the power of the upright. I've never been short of work in (whisper it softly) 50 years. Enjoy!

[/quote] The guy really wanted an acoustic DB but is happy to give it a go, I think mine sounds pretty good with its Spirocores on and the mods done All in good time, If I had somewhere to put one I would be tempted to sell my black pre EB to fund one, I still love that Framus cutaway in the FS section Edited February 19, 2013 by stingrayPete1977
bassace
All in good time! With my first DB I didn't know much, but after playing another one I was able to compare and contrast and so my knowledge started to grow and I got a sense of bass perspective. hubrad
Nicely! I found that once I was playing double I had to really persuade bands to have the electric.. went ages without an electric gig at one point, but eventually got more balance back into it. stingrayPete1977
Just got in from this little bit of recording I mentioned a while ago, went well I think and met a new musician which is how all of my gigs and bands have evolved over the years. Once the guy has finished it I will put it up for you lot to judge
