Been having a youtube day today and catching up on some things I don't normally listen to in the car, when it (re)occurred to me just how beautiful the lyrics of Joni Mitchell's songs are. This is one of my favourites of hers "Like the hexagram of the heavens, like the strings of this guitar" .................what a line ! This whole song really moves me So, who else could write such poetry ?

I've always thought the lyrics to this read more like a poem, with the rhyming and everything:

The section with singing starts at about 5:02, but you should listen to the whole thing because it's one of the best songs ever written.

Marillion always had some amazing poetic lyrics & quality basslines...
