martthebass Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) I've had an ad lurking amongst the 'Items Wanted' for a while for a Rick 4003 without luck so I thought I'd go for a sale p/ex with my FSR Fender Jazz. I've had the bass a while but despite me loving the sound of it I'm not really using it in the bands I'm currently playing in. I hate leaving good basses sitting in the case for too long so....... This is a Fender Special Run 2002 US made 75RI Jazz bass in great condition one of about 200 that were made in CAR. If you do a search of these basses on here you'll find they have near legendary status and are considered pretty much custom shop quality. It comes with all the original case candy (with exception of the curly lead); the pup and bridge covers are mint and have never been mounted on the bass. For a straight sale I'm looking at £999. I would prefer a trade for a Rick 4003 in similar condition (i.e. excellent) with the appropriate cash adjustment. For some reason photo uploads don't seem to be working at the moment - I'll attach when this is sorted. Edited March 18, 2013 by martthebass

shemeckfrac Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Very nice Jazz indeed. Not looking for the trade but after you sell this one you may wanna have a look at my Ric http://basschat.co.uk/topic/199283-rickenbacker-4003-mapleglo-l1250
martthebass Posted February 23, 2013 Author Posted February 23, 2013 (edited) Cheers Guys, Got to admit it is the nicest Jazz I've owned. If it sells Shem I'll give it some thought. Edited February 24, 2013 by martthebass
martthebass Posted February 24, 2013 Author Posted February 24, 2013 Forgot to mention, the bass comes with the original G & G case which is in very good condition.
niceguyhomer Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Think this used to be mine Mart - I've regretted selling this more than any other bass I've owned> Have a pic/bump on me.
martthebass Posted February 25, 2013 Author Posted February 25, 2013 Hi NGH, it is exactly the same, but not the same bass.....the chrome ware has never been mounted on this one. I believe it originally came from darn sarf. Great photo though.....wish I had the gift!
niceguyhomer Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Ahh...fantastic example of a Jazz this - someone's gonna be very happy with this
martthebass Posted March 2, 2013 Author Posted March 2, 2013 After midnight back from the gig bumpola....
martthebass Posted March 3, 2013 Author Posted March 3, 2013 (edited) Something has caught my eye so I'll offer this at £1050 posted until the window of opportunity closes. Still Would be interested though in a trade of a nice Musicman Ray Classic or Rick 4003 with cash your way...... Edited March 3, 2013 by martthebass
martthebass Posted March 4, 2013 Author Posted March 4, 2013 Pms replied to. This baby is still very much here at the moment tho.
martthebass Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 Need to sort this one way or the other now, so it's up at £1000 FINAL. If it sells good, if not I'll press this awesome Jazz into use and forget about the Rick for a while.
martthebass Posted March 9, 2013 Author Posted March 9, 2013 There's some amazing Fenders for sale on the forum at the moment and this is one of em ;-)
Sandmann Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 so beautyful.. whats the wheight on this one and what about shipping to Germany? Sandmann
martthebass Posted March 10, 2013 Author Posted March 10, 2013 (edited) A straight 9lbs as can best be determined on my digital scales.......not a heavy weight. Overseas shipping ok as long as you arrange the courier. Edited March 11, 2013 by martthebass
martthebass Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 Will give this a little longer before I string it with some flats and put it to work. Looks like the market is full of Fender sellers rather than buyers at the minute so may have to suppress my GAS for a Rick until the next significant birthday.
