Gosh, I learnt it about 3 years ago ( mainly by ear). When we first gigged it , I got into wrong .
Never rehearsed it enough .
It's a bit tricky , coz his voice raises a pitch midway through .
Haven't got tab, but have a bump, and hope Mr.Vox can handle his duties well on this song ,)

It's in e and modulates to g for the last section.
The main riff runs open e to 7 fr on a, then to b on e string and 5 on a, two open es then b at 7 and 5 on a
This is the main riff. Everything else is based around the c, d , and e with associated runs

Yaah. great The Tab i'm looking at every verse and chorus is different and there are pre choruses as well, and then there is a different part over the solo. hense I'd rather just read it.
Youv'e been playing it wrong all these years Truckstop

Its a doddle to learn by ear. Take you 20 mins.

I'd say so. The hardest thing is the muting so as to not have open E droning or harmonics accidentally generated at the 7th fret, plus the feel as some of the notes in the main riff are cut off short, and some are not.

Good line to play though. Nice and melodic.

If it's for a tribute band, where everything must be exact, I can see why you might want the dots. Otherwise, I agree, it'll take 20 mins max by ear and you'll have learnt the chorus for Belinda Carlisle's "Heaven is a place on Earth" at the same time!

Well of course if you're trying to get it note for note then I suppose so!

I think that I might hate the tune itself but the bass line is absolutely superb! So well crafted, not nearly as straight forward as you might think, a lot of walking about and countering the melody with what the bass is doing.

When you can't jump up and down and look cool anymore you have to try to get the notes right, its the only edge you have left. I'll probably end up winging it as well

Do you still need it? I have the dots if you want them.
I love the bassline to this song, not necessarily because it's the best / most complicated / most amazing line ever but because when I first started playing all those years ago I heard this song and the bassline just stuck out and I loved it.
It was the first track that inspired me to really push my bass education and work hard to improve.
Two thumbs up.
