It's just a case of installing the correct driver, and in fact the manufactuers site seems to be saying it is version independent - http://uk.focusrite.com/firewire-audio-interfaces/saffire-pro-24/system-requirements

Sounding good stuart, i'm not too clever on this type of gear... What i need is an interface that i can play along to itunes/youtube etc, i didn't need anything with my old win xp pc but my new one is c**p with loads of latency, would this work?

I have not used this for that purpose but it is basically a high qual analogue top digital convertor whihc is what you would be needing for that purpose and I would imagine latency not much of an issue. Might be worth searching the forums first to see if other people are using it for similar..
