tattoodevil76
Morning all. I'm new to bass after playing lead for 25 years and need some advice on an amp that I could gig with (small gigs). I will be playing classic/modern rock, bit of pop and some 60's- nothing too heavy! My options at the moment are: Laney HCM160b Crate BT100 Laney linebacker 120b Laney RBW200 Any other suggestions under £200 would be helpful. Cheers
brensabre79
Welcome to Basschat! My suggestions would be: 1. look for a secondhand amp 2. separates are better for upgrading/transporting but budget may be a factor 3. avoid Laney or Crate if you can! 4. Look for at least around 200watts - or you'll be flogging your amp from day one! brensabre79
Also, you could easily pick up a Peavey bass combo within your budget. These are solid and reliable and don't sound bad at all. Can be heavy though! You should have a look in the for sale section on here too. There is rarely a bargain, but you should be able to pick up a good quality amp that has been looked after.

tattoodevil76
Well, I ended up with a P3115 Promethean. Reviews were good and looks like it'll do the job.
