All this talk of frets all the way to the bridge makes me think we're designing a peanut:



For what it's worth (not much) I'd vote for 4.5 strings like Earbrass.

And some people may say we're not taking this seriously!

24 fret through neck , maple /maple and perhaps a wenge skunk stripe?
Any thoughts on body shape? We'll talk finish later. I'm very boring and find the Precision body most comfortable.

Doods is the only headless that immediately springs to mind:



but I generally prefer the "pointer shapes" so I'll go for the Shuker Uberhorn or Horn shape personally

Ok, so what kind of sandwich? My vote goes for the most rock and roll sandwich ever, the deep-fried peanut butter and cheese as designed by Elvis.

I like the way Jens Ritter puts the screws to adjust the height of the pickups in from the back of the bass, also a Strat style socket at the back too.

Let's try and keep the front of the bass as free from screws and junk as possible.

Edit: Apart from the sandwich, obviously.

Yeah 24, maple/maple sounds good, maybe have a rosewood option though? Shape wise Something interesting and comfortable, somewhere between a P bass and a Rickenbacker 4003, predictable and simple but they are lovely comfortable shapes!
