binky_bass
Well, it's amazing what you can find out about an instrument that you didn't know the day before! I send an email over to Warwick today and got a reply about an hour later from Mr H.P.Wilfer, president of Warwick, to tell me that my Warwick Vampyre was in fact the first one to be produced, it has a serial nuber of 2003/001. Hans Wilfer wrote: Dear. Russ, we brought out the Vampyer in 2004 and your Bass is one of the first models end of 2003 which we brought to the market.. and indeed your model is the No. 1 of the Series.. so you are real lucky and you can be very proud to be able to get this model.. very unique.. Beside that.. the model wen`t after n a serial production and we still are doing it by today... With best regards Warwick GmbH & Co Music Equipment KG H.P.Wilfer 27.02.2013, 16:24 President I am pretty stunned by this... It's damn cool to own THE FIRST Warwick Vampyre ever made... crazy. I did have this up for sale, but I'm not sure I can now. Just wanted to share this! Thanks, Russ.
