Happy Jack
I'll be spending a few nights in Philly just before Easter. It would be a criminal waste to spend them sitting in a hotel lounge ... where should I go? I'll be staying in/near the Old Town, I like blues & pub rock but I can listen to (and enjoy) most things. I'm not a heavy drinker. I don't like "being a tourist". I'm too old to pogo but too young for Richard Clayderman. What you got?

Truckstop
Oh god I'd love to visit Philadelphia! Such an important place in early American history; see where the Constitution was signed, see the Liberty Bell, the Court House etc etc. Loads of museums! And, you simply must seek out the Philadelphia Cheese Steak Emporium and tell me what it's like! Very jealous. Alex
Big_Stu
Friend of mine used to live so close to the site of Gettysburg that they used to go hunting for spent bullets in the fields. Apparently you could still find hundreds of them.

Happy Jack
So ... any advance on crack cocaine, cheesesteaks, and antique musket balls?
lowdown
Go and have a nose around Sigmasound, although revamped, It's still an amazing place for a nostalgia trip. http://sigmasound.com/history/about-us/ Garry
Happy Jack
Tried the Philadelphia Cheesesteak this afternoon, didn't feel TOO sick afterwards. Personally, I think I'll stick to its inspirational ancestor, the greasy doner kebab. On t'other hand tonight should be a hoot. Idly surfing the web looking for some music-related action I stumbled across http://www.utphilly.com/event/227067-meter-men-philadelphia/ I am SO going to spend tonight checking out George Porter Jnr.
