ML94 Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Hi I've just googled and googled Nathan East and I'm surprised that he played most of the Anita Baker stuff as well as other 'big' artists. I would've never thought that he'd be the guy behind all the grooves that I find amazing. I just wanted to know does anyone have any transcriptions of his work or somewhere where I can find them ? Also some of his 'well known' bass lines. Does he slap, as I've not seen, heard his slap work if there is any? ML Quote
zero9 Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 If i remember correctly, he played a great slap solo wit Eric Clapton live. Saw it on the telly ages ago. Someone may remember the concert. Quote
JakeBrownBass Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 There's a list of his credit's here. http://www.allmusic.com/artist/nathan-east-mn0000317169/credits Can he slap? Yes. Does he slap? When needed. That was pretty much his answer at the Manchester bassday he did. Quote

I don't recall him being particularly 'slappy', but I've no doubt he could if necessary. Perhaps that's the bassist's definition of a true gentleman - someone who can slap, but doesn't. Quote

BassSwede Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I discovered Nathan East through his jazzy work. I love the sounds of Fourplay *ducks from inbound innuendo* Quote
