dmckee
[font=arial,helvetica,sans-serif]Sunburst Fender Tony Franklin signature fretless Precision bass. I think it was made in 2006. I’ve had it about a year and will be sad to see it go. It’s a lovely bass with a terrific warm deep tone. The combination of P and J pickups and the ebony fingerboard really make for a unique fretless sound. Only selling because I just got a USA G&L L2000 fretless and I can't justify 2 expensive fretless basses (or at least my credit card can't). Only things I’ve done to it is fit a Baddass II bridge (I have the original if you want it), fit Schaller straplocks, and to lightly sand the gloss off the back of the neck, making it smoother to play. It’s in great condition – the neck is perfect, a little surface marking on the fingerboard from the roundwounds I have on it, very light wear on the scratchplate as you’d expect, and a few surface marks on the back down near the strap button. Otherwise it’s perfect. I had it set up at Jimmy Moon’s last year, so it plays really nicely too. mr zed
I take it these are American? Also, if the badass is replaced with the original bridge, would there be any tell tale signs? i.e. were extra holes required that will be on show? Lovely looking bass! dmckee
Mr zed - yes, American, and no, no additional holes. The Badass is designed to be a direct replacement for the standard 5 screw Fender bridges. Cheers. Dave.
mr zed
Thanks Dave - still arguing with myself whether or not to put my beloved Jazz up for sale to get some funds together to put towards this. In the meantime - have a bump.
