fretmeister
What are the Sadowsky neck shapes like? Are all 5 strings the same, or are the modern 24 frets different in shape to the vintage line? I've sold a couple of nice basses and I have some money to spend!
risingson
Perhaps I'm wrong but I didn't find the last M5-24 I played completely dissimilar to my Musicman Ray 5, flat and very manageable.
fretmeister
That wouldn't be awful! As long as it was lighter than the Ray 5 I have for about 10 minutes, anyway!
leroydiamond
I purchased an NYC JJ directly from Sadowsky, but found the depth of the neck pretty chunky when compared with my 1964 jazz bass. I returned the neck to Roger Sadowsky who reshaped the neck to my requirements for a reasonable fee. I suggest emailing Sadowsky prior to purchase and get as much info as possible. They are an excellent company to deal with.
molan
I don't find their profiles differ much but some of them have a very flat radius board. They make my wrist ache when playing them for a long time
vintage_ben
There were various options when I ordered my 4 string wrt nut width and radius. Can't remember what nut width I went with, but went for a 9.5" radius. I dont recall discussing profiles. It's pretty middle of the road, standard p-bass/stringray type feel. Very comfortable. thodrik
One of the reasons I love my Metro Jazz is the fact that the neck is a bit wider and thicker than the Fenders I've tried. Coming from a Precision background this helps a lot. If I had the money I'd buy a NYC in a second.

[/quote] This was a difficulty for me as I was coming from a fender jazz and was expecting the neck to have similar shape. I could not deal with chunkier profile and hence required a reshape.
