Ok so I'm old....I grew up in the 70's 80's. At the time I hated all 'pop' music and just listened to Rock. Now I listen to Radio 2 at work (planetrock when no one else is in!) and all the old stuff comes on and I often think hey this isn’t so bad.
Today I heard Bow wow wow - wild in the country and I was totally struck by how good the bass is.
I had to Google him - Leigh Gorman...... I had no idea. I know of other 80's bass players but this guy just seems to be very underrated.

i remember recording them from a live gig somewhere and thinking they were great especially the bass.

I saw them at the Nottingham Boat Club on the tour they did to promote the "Your Cassette Pet" 8-track cassette album. Probably one of the best gigs I've been to. Great band.

Ahahaha! Yep, he is fantastic, makes his Wal talk. Matthew Ashman was a fabulous guitarist too. Check out Orang Outang, you'll think much of it is guitar, but there's a hell of a lot of superb bass in there.

Bow Wow Wow essentially were Adam and the Ants with a different singer.

Leigh Gorman was in Soho, who did that Hippy Chick tune...
