Chris2112
Regarding the Rush clip, what you have to remember is as it`s live, Ged is playing bass, singing and possibly triggering keyboard effects via footswitches at the same time. Wish I was that sloppy
And listening back to the whole thing via monitors. Whilst dancing about the stage. Compare it to their studio records, which are very tight. It's easier to be bang on time in a comfortable studio. I don't think the live record is any worse for the timing though.
Roland Rock
Here's one I like - Space Oddity, taken from the studio masters. I needed to learn the song, and had trouble making the bass out in the song, and found this on Spotify - an enormous help. Fine playing and lovely tone too: http://youtube.com/watch?v=BfbIFiOiHNo
lojo
It's why I love listening to live versions of songs, they are rarely perfect, but sound so good that way
4 Strings
This doesn't sound too bad to me
This absolutely rocks! A fab example of a track that sounds mediocre on its own but so, so good in the track. I've learnt to play this song for a covers band from this isolated track, its a really hard one to do well and make sound as good as the original. Wilton Felder, pick, flats, Fender Jazz. Very hard to beat - and he's a sax player!
Lozz196
I think it sounds great on its own, but agree, in the mix of the track it really shines.
