The Dark Lord
Seeing them at The Roundhouse in London next week and in Carlisle a fortnight later. Here's some footage of the latest tour including the peerless JJ Burnel - the best bass player wot ever was or ever will be. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=AgtNqcPdbC0#! Lynottfan
Nice one, JJ is great player, an old band of mine played on the same bill as The Stranglers, managed to spend a little bit of time with Mr Burnel and he was an absolute gent. Will def. go see them, there new album is not half bad either imho.
Lozz196
Pook, can`t make the ones that are near me. Still, they were great last time I saw them, and no doubt will be next time.
Green Alsatian
I saw them in Liverpool on Thursday and they were fantastic as usual. Jet sat out the first hour of the set, with his backup sitting in. When Jet came on, the crowd roared and they burst into Genetix with Jet playing for the remaining hour. The backup came on, doubling up with Jet for the last encore of the night - Tank.
the_skezz
Travelled up to Leeds to see them yesterday, one of the best times I've seen them -Genetix is always a treat live. Seeing them again in Birmingham next week. EDIT: Also bought the live CD of last year's tour - shows how tight they are, musically it sounds almost identical to the studio versions of the songs. wateroftyne
Baz Warne is a lovely bloke, and single-handedly justifies Sunderland's existence. Edited March 10, 2013 by wateroftyne
The Dark Lord
Just got back in from a night out in London watching The Stranglers at The Roundhouse. Utter, utter brilliance. JJ at his sparkling best, laughing, joking and smiling his way through a thumping, hit-laden set. A true bass player's bass player. Sean
Apparently JJ plays so hard he needs his basses refretting annually. With stainless fret wire. I'm seeing them next Saturday in Bristol.
the_skezz
The Brum gig last night was phenomenal - Baz's 500th with the band. Amazing, the band and audience were on top form.
