Clarky Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 (edited) Blast Cult make some super cool retro rockabilly style double basses. The bass whisperer Ed Friedland plays one. Grand Wazoo Posted March 10, 2013 Author Posted March 10, 2013 Looks like the pickup pieces are not in line with the strings, maybe it's just the way the pic was taken. Quote
Stacker Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Gordon Smith Guitars had something similar, way back in the early '80s: had the trem and two large, circular pups set in a PJ config. Sadly, can't find a pic on Google. Quote

TomRichards Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Have played their review bass and spent a good two hours with the Thirty 2 at Bass Player Live in Los Angeles two weeks ago. I'm thinking really hard about buying one. Just was cool. The ones they had are strung with flats, but I could tell you would get a cool bass sound if it was strung with rounds. The wood choices are incredibly resonant and the bass is super well made. If you play punk/alternative/rockabilly/country/alt country/60s pop covers you will rock it out all night long! Quote
