Firecreek Natural Rippled Olive Ash P bass

Made a start on a P body, gonna be put on hold for a while but I love this wood so much I though I should share some pix with you. It's only roughed out at the moment hence the rough curves.
It's gonna be a 5 string but i only had a 4 string pup kicking about for the pix.

Thanks - I was thinking about birdseye maple neck and fretboard with ebony blocks and binding. Possibly a black or black pearloid scratchplate instead of the tort one. TBH not really sure.....

That body is amazing! I would be worried that a figured maple board may be too much bling, just my opinion though and happy to be proven wrong!

I think you might be right, the birds eye I've got is not too figured but maybe just plain maple would be better

Just a high gloss clear i think.... I've got a few other little projects to finish before continuing with this, but I really wanna crack on with this

Been busy on other basses but have made a neck (just gotta do the frets) and have now started spraying the body, cant wait to have this one finished.

Thanks for asking – I’ve not done any more!!! Since then I’ve been busy making them for others, I’ve made 3 basses and 2 guitars, got 1 bass and a guitar to make then hopefully I can get back to this baby…..

I got a piece of this ash of Nugget........that hasn't progressed much since either!!

This wood is just gorgeous and this bass really shows it off. I too will be watching this thread to see how mine could look when I get round to it.
