Jimryan Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Afternoon all, This is potentially a very stupid question. I've boiled strings in the past, boiled them, dried them in the oven and re-strung them. However, that was when I used regular stainless strings. These days, I use rotosound nexus strings, which (as you know) are coated. Can the boiling process still be applied to coated strings, without causing any harm/damage to them and/or the coating? If not the boiling part, what about the drying part? Cheers all, James Quote
geoffbyrne Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 If they are coated, they should (theoritically) never need boiling or immersing in alcohol. G. Quote
neepheid Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 I wouldn't think the coating would be terribly happy about being boiled and subsequently lightly roasted. Quote

discreet Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 Short answer is, if you're not happy with them buy some new ones! Quote
