I like the sound and feel of the strings that came fitted to my Sandberg, and would like to stick with them. Unfortunately it seems it's not that easy to get them in the UK. Thomann supply them, but their minimum order kinda kills the price!

Somebody started a similar thread on Talkbass last year - any comments, do we think they're right?

Long discussion on who makes which strings here but I don't think Sandberg got a mention.

The TB thread tends towards thinking that if some other company makes the strings then they must be the same as some string made by that other company. That's not correct because the string companies will be making whatever is ordered from them. So, in this example, Sandberg could be using GHS without them strictly being Super Steels.

Indeed. This is the case with Ken Smith bass strings.

ER... think I might just try some different makes and see how I get on. I've been using Elites 45-gauge, but the Sandberg comes with 40s which are a bit slicker.
