Price Drop £1,690

I am offering for sale my Rickenbacker C64 bass. This is effectively a reissue of the bass Rickenbacker gave to McCartney in 1964. This one is of course right-handed, but these right-handed reissues have a left-handed headstock (to mimic McCartneys right-hand neck on a left handed body). This differs from standard 4001/4003 basses as it has dots on the neck instead of shark fin inlays and has no binding.

I did some research to find a recent price for these but I was unable to, perhaps I need to sharpen my google skills. I've set the price at £1,720 as I have my eyes on another Rickenbacker that is this priced at £1,720. I only want to sell this if it allows me to buy the other Rickenbacker. If it's priced too high, it won't sell and I'll keep it.

Includes Rickenbacker Silver case.
Small chip on the top horn.
Meet up / collection / delivery by me only. I am based in Worcester.

Thanks for looking.

Steve

I mailed Steve and this bass is for sale.
Horseshoe, reversed headstock and body contours make them a more player friendly bass.
I'm currently a couple of gigs short on the money front so if you want this absolutely stunning limited bass, get ya finger out  .
Bump.

Think Beedsteer is after one of these maybe worth sending him a PM?

Indeed I am, and Steve and I have discussed this beauty on several occasions trust me. It is, to all intents, my dream Ric, Macca model with the unbound neck (and dots not sharkfins), unbound body with very very nice contours, Fireglo finish, but most importantly VT control on the bridge PUP (the lack of which IMO is a MAJOR issue on some other Ric RIs such as the v63, rendering the neck PUP extremely weak in relation to the bridge PUP and severely restricting the combination of tones).

If Steve wanted something I was selling or I could find the cash, this baby would have been living with me long ago

there is an easy way to get the action low raise the action to the preferred height at the bridge then adjust to taste using the truss rods. i have used this method a lot of times on rics that people have had issues with, also check the nut has been cut low enough.

Some people have asked about trades. I'd be interested in a
Yamaha BB2024mx in white. joking I am.

I would be interested in a Yamaha Bb1200s, a fretless Rob Allen or a fretless Taylor.

Thanks

Steve
[/quote]utterly OT but what's the difference between the BB1200s and BB2024mx in terms of you wanting one and not the other? is the BB1200s the active version of the BB1200 and the BB2024mx the modern bolt on one?

Steve, I guess this has probably gone by now, but what is the action like? Can't really tell from the photos and some have been know to be difficult to get very low.
Cheers,
Karl.

I'm quite happy with the action, but i'm fairly easy going, Here are some action shots.
