Dave Vader
That looks ridiculously useful. Thanks mushers, I have need of that later. Though given the ridiculously complicated intro I have been sent to work out, it might have as much trouble as I am finding any notes, let alone chords..... Jazzneck
Bugger - it says I've got to have Internet Exploder 8 or above or Mozilla/Google Chrome - I can't use these as they screw up my online banking and other stuff. Any suggestions or do I just slink away mumbling like a Luddite asking why people have to keep changing things that work for me? However, it does seem to be following certain changes in the sounds on the composition and the intervals seemed to line up with what I was hearing
Bigjas
That is so clever I'm sure it won't be 100% accurate all the time with all songs, but it makes working out songs so much easier. This is a long way from when I used to sit at a tape deck, starting and stopping and rewinding songs to work them out Jas

spinynorman
Tried it with Joe Bonamassa's version of "Had to Cry Today" and it doesn't look right to me, not that I've ever been able to work that out myself. I wonder if it's taking the chords from the bass and a too-busy bassline confuses it? For Android users Guitar Music Analyzer looks neat, though I haven't really put that to the test either. Works from mp3 on phone or via mic. Edited March 12, 2013 by spinynorman
Chrismanbass
not having much luck with it even the stuff they're advertising as featured songs are wrong? so either i'm missing something (entirely possible i am human) or its about as much use as those submit your own tab sites edit: turns out i have missed something it will work just on simple songs and only if they're in tune for example no woman no cry isn't tuned to 440 and so it gets confused and puts it in Db more complex stuff it seems to struggle with on balance its okay but by no means perfect Edited March 13, 2013 by Chrismanbass

bobbass4k
Been pretty great with everything I've thrown at it. I tried one of my own proper songs and it got it mostly right, the chords in that song aren't really conventional but it got the roots right and got the key change right. I tried it with an ambient noise thing too, and considering there's no chords it followed the notes pretty well. Very impressive, this kind of thing has been around for a while but it's nice to see a really accurate one in a free simple web interface. BassTractor
Sorry, man. Never meant to be cryptic. Of course things aren't funny when explained, but just to put you out of your misery, I'll try anyway: Chordify said: "That's not audio, mate!" just like we said: "That's not music, Pete!" Not that this ever happened in real life of course. Twas just where my warped brain immediately led me. Sorry for the confusion. best, bert
