Joshbasscana Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 (edited) For sale is my Musicman HH 5 string Bongo bass. I have owned this since my 18th birthday which is nearly 8 years ago now. My parents wanted to invest into my future of bass playing and my journey with this bass has been one which has been totally unforgettable. Done lots of shows in the UK and abroad with this bass. Supported loads of awesome bands with this bass like Jarvis Cocker, Ash, The Saturdays , Utah Saints, Audio Bullys, Delirious? and lots more. In the past year I purchased a Lakland Duck Dunn P Bass which is a dream to play and suits the band that I play now more so because our style has changed a lot over the past few years. So the Bongo bass has been used less and less. Im HUGE fan of this bass and am very attached to it sentimentally but there is a bigger cause here that I need to support. I am selling for £750. So, enough of the back story, now the bass. It is well used and has got a bit of wear on the headstock. There is a chip on the main body on the side (I completely decked it at a show!) but is unnoticeable when you actually play it. A light scratch on top part of the body where the arm comes over. The volume knob was knocked at a gig once. When you turn it round, you'll notice the volume knob swivel left and right as you turn it. Its a comestic thing but the volume knob works fine. The pickups have a bit of rust on them but can probably be cleaned up. Comes with the hardcase which is WELL USED and quite battered. Think thats about it really. I cannot stress how amazing this bass is. The tone is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Session work has come easy because this bass is simply 'plug in and go.' Sound engineers at shows have said on numerous occasions how good it sounds out front. The preamp is sublime. Open it up and it looks like a chuffin computer. Immense. I dont want to post and really would prefer someone to pick it up. Please dont hesitate to get in touch. Thanks! Josh Edited April 25, 2014 by Joshbasscana
Joshbasscana Posted March 14, 2013 Author Posted March 14, 2013 Bump - actually £850. Can't adjust the value above on an ipad for some reason!
Joshbasscana Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 Reduced £750, can't go any lower. Again I can't change the value above on an iphone!
pete.young Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Don't do it Josh. Speaking as someone who sold a really nice instrument that he recieved as a 21st birthday present, I know you're going to regret this.
Joshbasscana Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 Thanks Pete. We'll see what happens over the next few days and take it from there
mikekaperys Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Don't suppose you'd fancy a trade for a 5 string american jazz? I'm in Sheffield too if you'd like to try it!
Joshbasscana Posted March 17, 2013 Author Posted March 17, 2013 Sorry mikekaperys! I'm not in it for a trade. Although I've always wanted a jazz. Don't tempt me! Need the money really - sorry pal!
mikekaperys Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 That's fine! If you change your mind let me know
badboy1984 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 shame you not looking for trade, i got a 5 string ACG P/J bass to trade.
Bass-Thing Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Lovely bass. Wish I could afford it, plus I'm in Sussex which would make collection very awkward. Do have a BUMP however.
drexiya Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Agree with Pete above, don't do it. Its not worth it!
Joshbasscana Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 Still for sale! Im afraid I need to sell it. I have Lakland Duck Dunn Bass which I use lively mostly now. I need to sell it to fund a new Macbook. Play a lot of keys with my band and wouldn't mind a new Macbook as Im going on tour with The Feeling next month.
