elros
Hello I put together an albums worth of live recordings from our last two gigs. You can download the whole thing here. And, for those interested: I used my Surine Regency X six-string bass for tracks 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, and the beginning and end of 12 and 13. This bass is fitted with the Roland GK pickup and played through the Roland V-Bass system, except track 9 which is only piezo pickup. For the remaining tracks (4, 6, 10, 11, 14 and the middle section of 12 and 13 -- track 5 has no bass) I used my Conklin 9-string, no processing. Alas, the bass is a little low in the mix on the gig where I used the Conklin. But it does sound great.

I was pondering wether I should publicly apologize in advance for my freak-out on "Breakthrough" - I just went for it, and IMO some of it works and some doesn't quite work... ped
Well I loved the samples of your band on your website, I thought the playing was very tasty and tight, and the tone was a massive factor in getting the V-bass system myself. I am looking forward to listening to these full tracks later today, thanks for sharing. ped
wulf
Cheers Hallgeir. I've listened to the first track and have the rest queued up for later. All good so far Wulf
phsycoandy
Great to see "God Is upto something" in Norway........some exotic basses there, I just keep it simple with just the four strings! I think if you use more, God might think you're showing off! (Joke, English humour!)
trent900
Hallgeir, this is wonderful, wonderful, wonderful stuff. I think I'm moving to Norway just to have even a chance of singing with you guys. Please do a tour of the UK. Soon. Regards, Jon
elros
Thanks for the comments! Alas I have to quit this gospel choir as I'm moving from the city and the school where the choir belongs. Last gig is on Saturday. It'd be very cool to keep the groove going but logistics makes it rather impossible I'm afraid. It has been a blast learning the black gospel genre though, it's like nothing else and I've barely got me feet wet, so to speak. So much good stuff in these gospel bassists, I'm flabbergasted. Eh, anyway. Glad you dig it! I was supposed to get a DVD with some concert video footage as well, but I haven't seen it. Don't know if it'll ever come. If it does, I'll upload some of that as well. wulf
Perhaps you'll find another group needing your expert services? Even if you don't find another gospel group, I'm sure the experience will help whatever musical project you turn to next. Wulf ps. Enjoyed the rest of the recording too.
