JPJ
Hello fellow Basschatter's. Well after owning a Stagg EUB for a couple of years and becoming more and more seduced by the 'dark side' I'm thinking its time to upgrade. Obvious choices are either a second hand NS EUB (advantages - storage, transportability) or a low end upright. Budget will be second hand NS money. What is the collective Basschat wisdom on options? Mr Bassman
Second hand NS could be WAV / NXT c£500 to NS CR4M c£1000 + Which ballpark are you thinking?

thisnameistaken
You can get a good laminate bass for £500 that will be easy to play and sound pretty good. The only problem is then you'll accidentally hear a tune with Ron Carter on it or Danny Thompson or somebody and wish your bass sounded like his, and then it gets messy. Even after I upgraded, I kept my £500 laminate bass. It's actually seeing more action than my 'main' bass at the moment.
Owencf
Since i got the laminate bass my stagg has been converted to a dust collector....i should use it more Seems like alot of the folk who start with a EUB end up jumping ship to the real thing in shortish order. zero9
if you have the space, go for the double bass, you won't look back. Edited March 16, 2013 by zero9
