TomWIC
With my main band currently demoing and doing pre-production on our new EP, we've finally decided to bring in synths. We've done the synths for one track with a Line6 TonePort KB37 through Logic Pro, and I've just acquired an old Roland PC-180 so I can write some synth parts for the other tracks. The only problem with it is that it only has a MIDI Out port, not USB. Does anyone know if I can get a MIDI to USB cable like this: http://www.maplin.co.uk/usb-to-midi-adaptor-lead-48612 and this will allow me to use the keyboard in Logic? Or will I need an interface like this one: http://www.maplin.co.uk/uno-1-in-1-out-usb-bus-powered-midi-interface-224726 Or would it be much easier to get something more modern, something from the M-Audio range or similar? Zenitram
Although either of those should work, I'd be wary myself (though perhaps without good reason), and would be happier using something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Midi-interface-2x2-Midiman-UBS-/160989135395?pt=UK_Musical_AudioMIDI_Interfaces&hash=item257bb34223 or this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Roland-UM-2-USB-MIDI-Interface-2in-2out-/171007075128?pt=UK_Musical_AudioMIDI_Interfaces&hash=item27d0d0e338 that you can get drivers for.
