Grand Wazoo Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 I am not sure if this has been posted already, but I have just seen a small notification on facebook saying that Philip Kubicki died. Very sad news, he has been very helpful with me by email and by phone every time I have contacted him in the last 20 years or more. A very sad loss. Quote
Fat Rich Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Sad news, the X Factor was one of the most innovative instruments ever. Quote
xilddx Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 What a sadness. There are too few innovators in the instrument world and we've just lost another. Quote
bassatnight Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Very sad, a real inovater and the X Factor was a wonderful Bass. Quote
discreet Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013
A very sad loss.
Bad news indeed Fran, it was only recently I played your X-Factor and was very impressed by it. Quote
thisnameistaken Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Shame. I remember the Ex-Factor was a really novel looking bass when I was first starting out and I still haven't seen many more designs that were as interesting looking. Quote
MacDaddy Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Only this week read the April issue of BGM, and saw the obit. Over the years I've had 2 Ex-Factors - a regular Kubicki and one from the Fender custom shop.Incredible basses and an amazing neck. Phil personally got back to me when I had a Kubicki query. RIP Phil. Quote
