Back playing bass for the past three years, played as a student many years ago, moved onto six strings for a long time, but back to basics with a rock covers band in Oxfirdshire (The Spooks, the home of dad rock). The guitarist post had been filled, but I got the job of bass player and there was a Jap Precision on sale on a notice board at work the same day, karma! So glad to be playing bass again, satisfing and fun, who cares about howling guitar solos, when the joint is rocking to you and the drummer! Just bought a second hand Overwater by Tanglewood as a spare to go with the Precision and have an Ashdown combo, we mostly play pubs and village hall benefits. I also do a lot of experiemental (boring to others, not to me) synth and video stuff with PureData and Processing and am working out ways of using these live with either of the bands I'm in at the moment. Ride an oldish Ducati and that's about it.

Nice to be here

Hello and welcome Jonathan.

I love Oxfordshire, I go to the Cropredy Festival every year, now 20+ years.

Those Overwaters are good quality and a good price for the tanglewood ones. Join in and enjoy the forum and don't mind the banter.

Cheers Leen.

Hey Jonathan,

Welcome to BC!
I had written previously, but apparently something went wrong. Anyway, you'll find that at least some here are into experimental synth stuff. It's my background in fact, so I only find it boring when it's boring. :)

Enjoy the site!
