Ghost_Bass Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Tell the rest of the band to turn up!!! Quote
Twigman Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Too loud you say? I am running a Shuttle 9.2 into a BF Super12T - That's 900W at 4ohms......and I still have plenty of control and the ability to turn it down. Quote
SpaceChick Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013
I'm using it to drive a Barefaced Super 12T.
I'm just "upgrading" to a 800W Mark bass (little Mark though, not valve) with a Barefaced Super Twin..... so reading that you are too loud even on one fills me with immense happiness Quote

gafbass02 Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 I HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH MY MOMARK 800/BERGANTINO RIG. ITS REALLY LOUD AND CAN BE A BIT TRICKY TO CONTROL WHEN THE BAND ARE QUIET. IT MAY HAVE AFFECTED MY HEARING. AM I SHOUTING AGAIN??? Quote

Phil Starr Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 You are quite sensible to look for a solution. There's a sticky above about volume gain etc. In an ideal world you'd just turn down the bass and turn the amp up but I find the tone and volume interact on the bass and turning the bass right down doesn't improve the hum and noise to signal ratio. Putting something in the fx loop that will reduce gain is a good idea the other is to use a simple pre-amp between the bass and amp, there are plenty of cheap ones that are used to mix guitars. Some DI boxes have a volume control on too. Quote
alexclaber Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 If it really bothers you then you could wire the drivers in series rather than parallel, which will take the level down by 6dB. Opening the cab up without permission would void your warranty so it depends on how much it matters to you! Quote
Mog Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 How about throwing a comp or eq pedal with level control between the bass and amp? Should be a cheap fix. Quote
