My Jazz and Precision

I don't normally post here but I love these basses so much. They have a real presence. Yes I know they are only reissues but I want to share them anyhoo.:

Not sure about putting the chrome covers on the Jazz, any thoughts?

Those are absolutely gorgeous! I would normally say no to the covers on the Jazz, but on this occasion I reckon you should if you have covers on the Precision. They'd truly be a matching pair then.

They look great but as I was scrolling through the pics I wondered why the Jazz had no covers. I love that Antiqua finish and I am aware it isn't to all tastes. Personally I only have a Jazz & a Precision left these days and BOTH have covers. I love the F logo on the Jazz bridge cover although it was harder to get used to playing with it on. I've had covers on my Fenders for 15yrs so it would now be weird to play them naked, as it were

A quick question, but what is the reason for having covers? I'm assuming its just a place to rest the palm of your hand while playing, is that correct?

Whatever the reason I think it looks pretty damn cool on specific basses (like on a juicy Rickenbacker!). I definitely say slap it on your Jazz and then they can be a true pair!

Thanks for the kind words, I'm still dithering on fitting the chrome's on the Jazz........

They're really stunning as they are, but I'd consider adding an ashtray to the jazz, even if you don't cover the pups... IMHO, FWIW

I like the look of a jazz with covers, though personally fine the cover gets in the way when I want to dig in a bit, over the bridge pickup
