4 Strings
Don't know if this is of interest, here's the guts of my lad's e-bay Selmer TnB. Not great condition, worked but made a shocking noise if you put too much bass through it. Had a few mods done, had the common screen resistor changed for individual ones, had a modern kettle lead put on and a good service. It is now earth shockingly loud, no problems and brings in a satisfyingly warm grind to the tone when it's allowed to stretch its legs (so the lad says anyway!) It's now a prized possession. Point to point looks, to be honest, a bit of a mess, but seems reliable enough. planer
This is my sadly departed Fender Bassman 70 being supported by a Peavey 1516E. About a long time ago, this stack set me back less than £200! When I sold the cab earlier this year, the shipping weight was 48kg... Thankfully the sound is equally as large :-) and as for the amp, well - warm, clear and effortless are probably the words I would choose. Heavy, hot, loud would also apply. Great guitar amp too. Really great. mxm
I've had a few valve amps over the years, I can recall an ex-Motorhead JMP, a couple of SVT's and some mixed pre/power amp combinations. More recently I had 2 Fender Bassman 100T's... ...which are brilliant but then I borrowed something else off a Guitarist friend. Gartone Super Bass '68 100w clone, blew me away immediately. The volume is mental. Have since removed the amp from it's black wood chassis into a custom made Zilla one to match the Zilla cabs. sonnyonbass
Sorry for the lousy pic. The illustrious Trace V6! I don't think this needs any introduction. Sounds awesome, even with the 8ohm Eden cab (which is in the for sale thread) ;-) Edited November 8, 2014 by sonnyonbass

umpdv5000
Only got the one............ haven't any gut shots but will do when it gets worked on - hopefully soon. It's as I bought it except for a couple of replacement pre-amp valves & I had a Bulgin put back in - it had some kind of multi-socket connection when I got it. Loving your Ashton - never seen one of those before!!!!
Some 40 years ago when I was a young fella, I played with a pro band as lead guitar touring the Workingmens Clubs around the UK. The bass player had one of these Hiwatt 200's connected to 2 x 15" Fender Bass Cabs, using a 1961 Fender Precision Bass. I'd played with a couple of bands prior to this and thought that the bass players in those had a good sound, until I experienced this guy's. It was AWSOME! It was this that gave me a love for the bass (of which I now own 3). Although I am predominenty a guitarist, I enjoy playing bass when I get chance and although I've got a couple of good 15's cabs, I'd love to top them off with one of these (if I ever find one). There is a certain oomf and warmth that is unmistakable.
