cureswhatailsye Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Hi Guys, Just spotted this on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Jazz-Bass-24-Fret-Deluxe-No-longer-made-collectors-item-/290879162705?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item43b9bfc951 Now - I have one of this and paid £300 - I am right in thinking it's NOT worth £1500 right? chrismuzz Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 (edited) £1500 for a MIM Fender? EDIT: Dayumm it's a Korean one, never heard of a Jazz 24 from there... It could be rare! As the great Mark D Phillips said, "guitars are all maybes" Edited March 24, 2013 by chrismuzz Quote
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 When I see 19days left . I generally think that this will still be advertised for at leasr another 6 months . Nice bass, but it won't be sold quickly, as it is over priced. Quote

3below Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Surely a sticking 0 key. I have a 0 key that does not stick, early Toshiba L series, very collectible, not many left now Quote
jezzaboy Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Were these not made in Korea? Not that it matters really, thats a mental price. Ah but it`s a collectors item now. Didn`t realise this. Quote
BassPimp66 Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 less of a rip off, compared to the fender mark king series discussed earlier on BC... Quote
cureswhatailsye Posted March 24, 2013 Author Posted March 24, 2013 Yeah they're Korean - I've got a 5 string version. Not awful - does the job for £300 Quote

cocco Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 (edited) I'm sure i remember these being US made. I know this is Korean, I'm confused. Was there ever a similar US bass? Edited March 25, 2013 by cocco Quote
wateroftyne Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I think you're thinking of the American Deluxe QMT / FMT. Quote

Black Coffee Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Everything is only worth wot somebody will pay for it. I have a feeling it might be relisted. Several times........... At that price you could nearly buy a second hand custom shop five string bass from fender. I actually paid £1,600 for my four string custom shop fender about three years ago. Its too dear. Quote
Monckyman Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Aha but he may have "improved"it by sticking a Wilkinsons pickup in. Just sayin. Quote
iconic Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 maybe the 'excited' pricing structure is due to being a one off. .....as in the only one with that serial number? Quote
JapanAxe Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 He doesn't mention whether he's filed the nut slots down to a gnat's cock Quote
