If I drag GarageBand files onto external hard drive

Is it straight forward . Can I then delete files on my Mac mini to free up some space ?
( hard disk almost full)

Don't see why not, but i'd test the theory by saving some to the external drive and see if you can open and work with them from it before deleting the original

Make sure you drag all related files (ie the whole folder) rather than just the project file though.

Another way is to just 'save as' on to your hard drive and it should copy over all the audio files - I'm assuming that garage band works in the same way as Logic.
