'shimmer' effect for bass ?

Hi guys, is there a specific 'shimmer' effect for bass guitar. It seems odd as not many bassists would be after that sound but any body know of any about?

Best I have got to it is a sea machine with ps2, the only problem with this is that there is no set tracking is for SM effect. Not money bags so no strymon bluesky... is that only option?

I've always wanted to try one of these effects and not heard of this one so will check it out! But here's what I gathered:

Mooer - cheap but not that great
Line6 Verbzilla - the original? Octo mode is where it's at
Behringer RV600 - Verbzilla clone; from a Youtube demo it seemed that most of the sounds were inferior to the Line6 except the Octo/shimmer which sounded better!
Strymon Bluesky - the king but expensive

Also the Line6 M5/M9/M13 has the same effect. The M5 only costs a bit more than a Verbzilla plus does so much more so might be the best bet.

The 'Wet' pedal is getting a lot of love also - you can download different patches onto it, including a shimmer. People are saying it sounds even better than the Strymon Bluesky; it has fewer features but it is cheaper and smaller:

One good thing about the Bluesky though is that you can filter the lows out from the wet signal, which is essential for a bass reverb to avoid muddying the low end, not always required on a shimmer setting though since they usually are pitch-shifted up anyway.

Hmm, might have to try that Wet pedal now, this thread has reignited the shimmer GAS! You can control it with an expression pedal too. Oh man...

I had the Mooer and didn't like it (didn't try it on bass). The shimmer effect is a 5th, not an octave, which makes it sound a bit different to other shimmers. I really, really, really want a BlueSky or Hardwire Supernatural but I wouldn't do anything with them other than put them on shimmer mode and go "ooooh, pretty...."

Re the Verbzilla vs RV600: I've had both and I actually ditched the Verbzilla as it has a distortion issue (which I understand Line 6 knows about but hasn't bothered to do anything about) whereas the RV600 doesn't. Not everyone hears it, but I found it to be very annoying. Once you do hear it, you can't ignore it!
