Hey guys, just wondered if anyone knows whether Mark buys used basses, or just does part-ex? He's not open again til Tuesday, but I'm itching to know! Any excuse for a trip up there!

I believe he does commission sales; not sure if he actually buys used basses?

Most of the specialist dealers will sell on commission - rates average around 17.5% depending on value, whether final sale is on credit card, etc.

Ah right, maybe that's the case then. I was sure I remembered other BCers shifting basses through there, so perhaps that was it.

Mark will sell your bass on a commision sale, he as sold several for me over the last couple of years.
He gets a lot of hits on the website so if it is a good bass at the right kind of money it should move fairly quickly.

Thanks, I might give him a call if my bass doesn't sell fairly quickly on here. What sort of time frame have you found it takes to move a bass?

Depends on the bass, my Warwick took about 2 months, stingray 5 about a month, sandberg jj5 a couple of days!

I did ask about credit for sort of trading in.
He seemed ok with it, was 2 years ago mind, no harm in sending a cheeky email he is fairly quick to reply.

I even get replies from him on days the shop is closed, top bloke.
