what amp

i have a pair of bergantino 12s ht/ex and looking for a light weight amp . .didn't get on with
streamliner 9 (too smooth) . .thinking of markbass LM800 or SD800 any ideas . .i need plenty
of headroom.

Great cabs.

The Genz 9.2 and Aguilar TH500 gets good reviews on Talkbass when used with Bergantino cabs.

In my experience, the best is a Thunderfunk, if you can find one.

Shuttle 9.2 or lm800, the Markbass sounds fuller(I have both) gk mb800 might be worth a demo as well.
Headroom should not be an issue with any of these amps. I run my lm800 at under quarter volume through a Berg Hd212, plenty left in reserve for larger gigs and the tone is unbelievable!

It all depends what you want. I have just bought a GB Shuttle 9.0, and found that it doesn't have the depth I'm looking for, so I'm going back to my trusty Peavey Tour 700. If you want to try out the Shuttle, give me a shout.

The LM800 has a digital power amp and I believe the LM3 doesn't.

That will probably affect the tone.

Yes, from what I`ve read between the Little Mark Tube 500 & 800, the sounds are less warm on the 800. So the digital power amp does seem to affect tone.

It is quicker than the lmiii but still retains a lot of the warmth, with ridiculous headroom. Still no mute! I am in Leicester if you want to have a go on mine.
