LightingPete
Folks, I'm appealing to the collective wisdom of the community for my first post. The bass in the attached picture was the first I ever had, it was given to me for Christmas about 25 years ago when I was just starting on the bass guitar. I don't play it that often these days but am curious to try and work out what on earth it is. It looks like a Fender fretless but there are no markings or serial numbers to confirm that, only a 'Heron Music' Sticker on the back of the headstock. I believe the pickups are DiMazzio Blades but other than that I haven't got a clue. Any help would be gratefully received as I really ought to get it properly insured. Many Thanks [attachment=131493:IMG_0578.JPG]
TheRev
Heron Music is still open in Bristol, you could give them a call and see if they can remember what it might be? Back in the 80s I remember seeing a lot of unnamed Fender clones in the shops, probably from the same factories that produced Encores, Hondos et al. geoffbyrne
Some of the Hondo II models had DiMarzios - maybe out of the same factory? G.
