jackers Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 (edited) So he is saying it's a fender custom shop but doesn't show the certificate, (also I don't think custom shop orders had the S-1 system did they?), and saying he bought it from denmark street but the location is marked as China....smells very iffy to me. Also, a zero feedback seller doesn't help matters. I would say that, at best, it's an early 2000s US Fender, and at worst it's a Chinese copy with a Fender sticker. warwickhunt Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 What's too good to be true? It's a Fender (possibly) which he ordered from a shop; he actually doesn't say that it is a CS and at present it is £82... that sounds like a bargain atm! Quote
warwickhunt Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 I should add that I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole! Quote
BassBus Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Why would someone in China buy an American custom shop Fender when they make perfectly good copies of that bass in China with Fender on the headstock ;-) ...Allegedly Quote
Elvis Valentine Posted April 1, 2013 Author Posted April 1, 2013 Lol. Yes all very valid points. I mean yeah for 82 buckeroos its a bargain im sure , assuming he would send you it. No feedback first transaction too. Quote
Elvis Valentine Posted April 1, 2013 Author Posted April 1, 2013 Also is a candy apple red p bass with rosewood fret board not pretty normal? Quote
Well, what happened was that in 2006, 3 young Chinese friends visited London and all went into a shop and ordered identical basses. Then they all decided to sell them at the same time. Oh and they all have exactly the same houses too. There, totally legit. You shower of suspicious bastards. Quote
Elvis Valentine Posted April 1, 2013 Author Posted April 1, 2013 Somebody bough one of em for £310 i hope they dont pay before realising. Quote
yorks5stringer Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I think only charging £20 for postage from China would be enough to set alarm bells ringing, never mind anything else! Quote
Phil Adams Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Reminds me of the Not the Nine O'clock News sketch where the auctioneer introduces lot No 298 "the Caymann Blue" (postage stamp) thought to be the only one in existence etc etc. It sells for 3.5 million or something like that. Next is lot No 299..... another Caymann Blue Quote
