alistair Sutcliffe Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 (edited) This is my Roadstar2 RB850 fretless. The recent purchase of an upright bass means this and a few other things have to go. I would think it was originally fretted, but the mod has been done really well, presumably professionally. The serial number is L845300 which means it was made in Japan in 1984. I had it set up about 3 months ago by a pro luthier including having the fingerboard planed so it's got a lovely low action. It's got a fair few buckle scratches on the back, and a ding on the front as well as various smaller bumps and bruises. The finish and hardware is all original (including the weird-shaped strap buttons) but the trussrod cover is missing. Both pickups can be switched between single and double coil, and the knobs are blend, volume and tone so lots of tonal options. Playing over the neck pup gives the wah sound, and over the bridge you get more of a fretted tone. The strings on it are flatwounds and they physically last just about forever. They look quite old though and it would probably benefit from a new set. There's no case or bag but i'll make sure it's well-packed if i'm posting it. I'm in Rushden Northants if anyone wants to collect it or just try it out Edited April 2, 2013 by alistair Sutcliffe
