AndyTravis Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Looks like Fender are doing the 'la cabronita' bass MIM I hoped they would, and nitro classic series (unworn roadworns) basically. Music radar has pics. Quote
EBS_freak Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Its all about the A&H QU-16 this year For me at least... Quote

MarkG3 Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 I like the look of the 50s precision! Quote
AndyTravis Posted April 10, 2013 Author Posted April 10, 2013 Yeah, Shame about the limited colour ways, but I get the cost implications... The sunburst jazz is crying out for aftermarket stack pot controls. The candy apple red cabronita is on the list, dangerous. A mate who's out there has emailed me pics of the Gibson 335 bass too, which looks bloody gorgeous in a dangerous kind of way. Quote
Noisyjon Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 List price looks suitably high Quote
John Schoen Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Fender posted a demo of the Cabronita bass. I think it sounds great. Quote
Silvia Bluejay Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 (edited) Soo jealous of those who are there! Ped, Kiwi, can I be Basschat's Musikmesse reporter next year? Please? I would write and publish a lot of photoblogs for this site... Edited April 13, 2013 by bluejay Quote
krysh Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 (edited) I loved the Lefay Pangton fanned fret and the steel: also the DNA amp at the USA Music/Koch booth and the basses of Günther Eyb. and what polo did I wear? Edited April 13, 2013 by krysh Quote

BassMate14 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 I have to say, the Cabronita looks nice but it is a brand new bass- no Mojo. But I can see how it could be ok if it is strung with flatwounds and you are going for a vintage sound. I saw some interesting basses on the Human Base stand of course, the Fibenare were good, too. molan Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) This was the highlight for me - absolutely stunning in the flesh! So much so that I had it on 'reserve' for 24 hours but then decided I really needed a fretted one: http://www.ritter-basses.com/instruments/2012/1246-5.jpg Edited April 20, 2013 by molan Quote
molan Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 On the Fender front - I heard a dealer near me placed an order for no less than 6 new Custom Shop basses at the show. . . Quote
