KevB
Usually I've found Geddy's bass sound to be OK recorded but recently it sounds a bit of a mess live. However there are times when I don't think his particular tone for an album has necessarily suited the material. I was listening to Roll the Bones the other day and although I think that burpy tone he had on things like Grace Under Pressure and Power Windows works well for that material it didn't seem to fit for RtB so well to me, think I'd have preferred something grittier. xilddx
They don't sound quite like any steel strings I've tried. I've been using them for years now so hard to directly compare, all I can say is they sound so good I've never been tempted away from them. I was hopping between brands all the time before.
Just put the Optima Golds 9-42 on the Strat. Gotta say, I'm delighted! They play and sound lovely. Thanks very much for the advice mate.
