iconic
this Macca gem slipped me by, very busy melodic bassline, I don't think it's one of his well known ones being very early on Please Please Me. ....but as usual it seems to be a 'Beatles' flavoured key...Em I think (mostly!)...anyone else want to hazzard a guess as to the key...don't say G ...there a strange bit, unless I'm playing it wrong, at the "woh-oh-oh"....my Beatles chords book has this as G#m7/Gm7/F#m7 and then Am7 but C sounds better on bass, not sure why...C would be the flat 3rd in that chord? anyway have a bang on this... this guy does it very well. tonyquipment
Silly violin bass and animated eyebrow aside, I really like McCartney bass playing. Shame much of what he was playing in the early 60s is lost in crappy fidelity recordings. You don't fully get to hear it. Especially on the live stuff. The studio remasters are good but I want LIVE. Lowender
Pretty simple part. Clever though, especially for the time.
tonybassplayer
Not heard it in years. What a lovely song and bassline.
