Hi all,

In my never ending persuit to find new music to listen to, I am struggling to find any bands that are of a similar style to Jamiroquai and am looking for some suggestions if anyone has any?

The closest I have found is probably incognito but I really don't like the vocalist. Their instrumental stuff is great though! (although I haven't found much).

I checked out James Taylor Quartet last night, and I do like it but it doesn't have the more Disco / Funk edge that jamiroquai has.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Stevie Wonder? I've heard numerous comparisons of Jamiroquai to Stevie Wonder but I'm not really familiar with much Stevie Wonder at all. I'm sure someone else on here will pipe up with some Stevie recommendations :)

Sunscreen.

Corduroy.

IIRC started around the same time and were quite popular within the Acid Jazz scene. They played at my uni during the 90's.

I do love a bit of Stevie Wonder! and I definately see the similarites, but as far as I can see it mostly lies within the vocals (correct me if I'm wrong, as I have only heard some of his back catalogue).

What I'm really looking for is something musically similar more than anything. ( I hardly even hear vocals when listening to most music! ).

As all the above & also check out Roy Ayres. Even if you've never heard of him, you'll have heard a good few of his songs either on ads, in games or sampled.

I couldn't say this was like Jamiroquai , but if you've been listening to JTQ ect then why not listen to the real deal . Jimmy McGriff from the unbelievably groovy Electric Funk album :
