Graham
Hello everyone, I know this is the wrong forum but as time is of the essence I thought I'd put it in here where more people will see it. I'm supposed to be playing a paid dep gig tonight at The Jolly Farmers in Purley with a rock covers outfit called Carbon Skyline, but the drummer's just dropped out, if anyone knows of someone suitable and available let me know ASAP. This was supposed to be my first time depping with these guys so pretty disapointed it's turned out like this, set list is below: Set 1 American Idiot - Green Day Beautiful Day - U2 Vertigo - U2 Pick A Part That's New - Stereophonics Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison Go Your Own Way - Fleetwood Mac Going Underground - The Jam All The Small Things - Blink 182 Place Your Hands - Reef Under The Bridge - RHCP Message In A Bottle - The Police Hard To Handle - Black Crows Wishing Well - Free Saturday Night - Elton John Chelsea Dagger - The Fratellis Crazy Little Thing Called Love - Queen + Paul Rogers Set 2 Basket case - Green Day Your Give Love A Bad Name - Bon Jovi You Really Got Me - Van Halen Long Train Runnin' - Doobie Brothers Mustang Sally - Commitments Superstition - Stevie Wonder Play Thay Funky Music - Wild Cherry Back In Black - AC/DC All Right Now - Free Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd Mr Brightside - The Killers I Predict A Riot - Kaiser Chiefs Sex On Fire - Kings Of Leon Sweet Child O' Mine - GnR Tush - ZZ Top Wanted Dead Or Alive - Bon Jovi All standard stuff, a lot of us could play all that, so I'm hoping someone knows a drummer who could too. ezbass
Glad you got that sorted so quick. The JF is one of the venues I play, they get a good crowd, not too rowdy, decent load in and a half decent (if smallish) stage. Enjoy.

Graham
Cheers guys, I've not played here before, but heard good things about it. The person stepping in is a singer rather than a drummer, so we'll have to work around what he knows but I think it'll work out ok.
seashell
Hope its going well! :-) One of thr best pub gigs I've seen was a 3 piece where drummer and bass playet were both deps! Let us know how it went. :-)
Graham
It was.....ok, not terrible, but not good either, the drummer could pretty much hold a beat, but not a lot more than that, so we busked our way through a few of the numbers. He found playing drums for two hours a real endurance test too, I don't think he realised just how much hard work it was going to be. Not a bad crowd though, quite justifiably they got into it when we played well and were a bit more indifferent when were making mistakes or lacked groove. Had a slightly surreal end to the night where one punter begged us to play Mr Brightside again as he'd missed it the first time round and the insisted on getting up and (poorly) singing the final chorus before doing some X-Factor / Christina Aguilera style vocal runs at the end. Made the boy happy though, so worth it for that.
