Slap or not ?

Hi guys

need help on this, to me it sounds like a slap n pop in this track or is it a guitar ?

It's computer. No strings were harmed in the making of this masterpiece :P

To be more helpful... to perform this, yes, you could use slap n pop as appropriate I guess. As long as you perform the requisite Hail-Marys and beg for forgivness etc

I'm so pleased you're not an ABC fan. I have to say I was worried for a mo there. If you HAVE to re-create it, then I too would use a bass for that section. I also have great confidence that your rendition will be SO much better than the original. Especially in the section where you use the flange and overdrive :-P

Nothing wrong with liking ABC for to like ABC you must like Trevor Horn and there's nothing wrong with that!

Yes, the main bass part was "performed" using a Fairlight CMI - the daddy of digital sampling workstations but the part to which you allude was I believe, bassist Brad Lang. If you want to get it accurate, there's only "popping" or as we oldies used to call it "snapping" - no slap.
