ML94 Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Hi guys need help on this, to me it sounds like a slap n pop in this track or is it a guitar ? http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=sCjhWIhukdA&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DsCjhWIhukdA it comes in at 30 seconds would love for any comment on it cheers Quote
Grangur Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 (edited) It's computer. No strings were harmed in the making of this masterpiece To be more helpful... to perform this, yes, you could use slap n pop as appropriate I guess. As long as you perform the requisite Hail-Marys and beg for forgivness etc Edited April 13, 2013 by Grangur Quote
ML94 Posted April 13, 2013 Author Posted April 13, 2013 Haha! This isnt my personal choice of music Just need to recreate it for a peice of school work. All that time i'd thought it must be a bass ... Quote
Grangur Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 I'm so pleased you're not an ABC fan. I have to say I was worried for a mo there. If you HAVE to re-create it, then I too would use a bass for that section. I also have great confidence that your rendition will be SO much better than the original. Especially in the section where you use the flange and overdrive :-P Quote

EMG456 Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Nothing wrong with liking ABC for to like ABC you must like Trevor Horn and there's nothing wrong with that! Yes, the main bass part was "performed" using a Fairlight CMI - the daddy of digital sampling workstations but the part to which you allude was I believe, bassist Brad Lang. If you want to get it accurate, there's only "popping" or as we oldies used to call it "snapping" - no slap. Cheers Ed Quote
BigRedX Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 But Vice-Versa were musically more interesting. Quote
