Musicman20
Hi all I actually like creamy whites on basses, so it isn't really an issue, but I have noticed that two of my basses are turning a more creamy shade of white over time. Both of them are fairly recent, (2010/11) and both are usually cased unless used, and haven't been used outside as yet in direct sun, or on a stand in sunlight. They are both poly finishes. One has gone all creamy, the other seems to be getting there, with just a small area on the contours which seems to be the last area to change. I'm guessing this is normal, and usually people don't notice?

Big_Stu
I've heard of it happening due to a reaction with the glues & chemicals used in some cases, (that's as in guitar-cases, not "occurrences" cases). I thought it was on nitro finishes but I may be remembering wrong.
henry norton
Yeah totally normal. Pigments change and clear lacquers tend to yellow due to oxygen and uv, both of which we have in abundance on this particular planet. Just keep an eye - if the paint starts to crack, craze or get really patchy, kick up a big fuss
