AKG C410 headset mic and battery/preamp pack F/S £40

Perfect for your singing drummers () - a C410 with the B9 battery/preamp beltpack - well-used for backing vocals when I was drumming, but still works perfectly! The angle adjustment isn't great (it's all intact, just the rotating clamp isn't 100%) so it's kind of held in place with tape at the minute for extra stability, does the job - it'll come complete with a balanced jack to XLR cable to run from the beltpack to mixing desk too. Forty quid delivered, can knock a fiver off if you can collect (south Birmingham).

how well does it work? Sound quality etc.

It's actually really good, same capsule as used on AKG's clip-on drum mics (C419, I think?) but drawing its power from the belt pack instead of from the desk's phantom. Comes with a little windshield as well, which I found really useful for reducing 'breathiness' - I'd say certainly as good as anything else you'd get sub-£200.
