jude_b
Anyone else listened to this chap? I picked up the latest album after seeing him on Jools recently and there is some lovely Jamerson influenced playing on there - but also some wonderful rhythm guitar and horn arrangements too. I'm also a bit worried that the only recently released album that is making me shake my pants at the moment could quite happily have sat in the charts forty five years ago! untune
Yep been a fan for a while - great stuff! Check out the Menahan Street Band - pretty sure it's them who record the actual songs and therefore their bassist. I like playing The World Is Going Up In Flames, great dynamic bassline that keeps you on your toes!
jude_b
Yes it is them (I think they write for him too) - I'll have a listen. I think it's interesting that there's still gold to mined in that type of soul, I guess as long as the songs are good they're good.
Myke
Oh I remember him from Jools too! Was so good but I had forgot his name, thank you for the reminder
Cat Burrito
Also worth checking out Lee Fields if people like Charles Bradley
